Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is Inter Library Loan (ILL), and how does it work?
An Inter Library Loan (or ILL) is a book that is loaned out from a different library. The ILL program allows us to borrow (or loan out) books from libraries in that same program, to help out patrons like you!

How long can I check out an ILL?
It will vary depending on the library we borrow it from.

Can I renew an ILL?
If the library we borrow from allows it, then yes. Otherwise, you will have to return it on the designated due date.

Can I request an eBook through ILL?
Unfortunately, we can only do print books, print articles, and media (DVDs, physical audiobooks, etc.).

Where can I find out if another library has it?
1) Go to worldcat.org.
2) Make sure your location is set to Okmulgee (zip code: 74447).
3) Search for the book (you can do this by title, subject etc.).
4) Make sure the format says Print Book.
5) Look and see if another library has it.
6) Our librarian will take care of the rest!
