Drawn to the Archives Exhibit

The School of Creative and Information Technologies (SCIT), has been responsible for honing the talents of many renowned student, faculty, and alumni artist. This exhibit showcases just a small fraction of some of the materials of these amazing artists that the archive preserves. We hope these historical materials will allow for you to be “drawn” to the archives.

Larry Latham was responsible for directing and storyboarding many iconic 1980s-1990s animated television series. In 2001, he became an instructor for the 3D Animation program here in Okmulgee.

Sharon Braun was one of our most accomplished alumni artists, whose most significant accomplishment was designing some of the earliest DVD menus. She was the MGM Home Video’s Senior Art Director of Creative Services and designed the promotional materials for many iconic films such as Schindler’s List and Leaving Las Vegas.

Monte Toon was a Graphic Design graduate who was famous for his watercolor paintings. He had travelled across the United States to capture the beautiful landscapes in his artwork.

Dana Jones was a 1992 Graphic Design graduate who started her own studio in Broken Arrow.

Bryan Cooper was an alumnus known for his mixed media art, combining photography, sculpture and other media.

Dean Wilhite was a Graphic Design graduate and head of senior art director of the Ackerman McQueen advertising firm and was a painter.

John Hammer was a 1985 Graphic Design alumnus with decades of experience. He was most famous for his “pop impressionism” style of artwork. He had also designed promotional artwork for Tulsa's Mayfest event.
