Program Objectives

By the end of the program, students will be able to:

-Evaluate sources for credibility
-Cite sources in the style appropriate for their course
-Determine appropriate sources based on assignment needs
-Apply search strategies when researching and evaluating sources

The internet has brought a wealth of information to the limelight, but not all information is created equal. This is especially the case with the spread of misinformation and fake news. How do we know what we're reading is accurate? How do we go about checking and determining what makes a good source?

Enter the ACLR Framework.

 The ACLR Framework provides six frames to build on information literacy. All of these concepts are interconnected, and are flexible enough that they can be addressed in multiple avenues. The ultimate goal of the framework is to show students how to consume and create information more thoughtfully and ethically.
