"...students vary on their opinions and perspectives over what AI use constitutes cheating. While most thought turning in a paper written by generative AI was cheating, many believe the using it to study or research is acceptable. While students who rely too heavily upon generative AI may suffer academically due to incorrect information if information is not validated or a lack of experience with individual synthesis and learning, while others may benefit from an additional form of information and support. Generative AI has the potential to allow students who seek clarifying detail about topics to quickly answer their questions and provide supplemental information" (Andresen, Blankenship, et. al 897-98).
